These earrings feature the beloved cherubs from Raphael’s Sistine Madonna (1512), perhaps some of the most recognizable angels in art history. Resting at the bottom of the painting, these two small figures gaze upward in quiet wonder, their expressions somewhere between reverence and daydreaming.
Though often reproduced on their own, they were originally painted as part of a grand devotional work, grounding the divine scene above with something deeply human, curiosity, patience, and the soft boredom of waiting.

Collector’s Notes:
Raphael painted these cherubs as part of The Sistine Madonna, commissioned for the church of San Sisto in Piacenza. Over time, the two angels became icons in their own right, appearing everywhere from postcards to porcelain, beloved for their expressive faces and timeless charm.

Care
Care
Cherish your Folkloric Jewelry with a touch of tender care to maintain its magic and charm. Our pieces are handcrafted using decoupage techniques and sealed to protect the artistry, though they should not be worn in water, such as showers or swimming pools, to preserve their beauty. Sterling silver elements may develop a patina over time and can be revived with a simple polish. Our bronze chain necklaces are treated with a non-tarnishing solution, but to avoid possible reactions with sweat, it's best not to wear them during intense activities. Remember, any small imperfections are part of the unique handcrafted nature of each piece.
