Santa Margherita Necklace with Pearls

One of a kind necklace featuring the image of Saint Margherita. I found this image in an Italian auction catalog so I don't know much about its origins. However, I was able to glean the artist, Mastro del Polittico di Torre di Palme, and it was painted in the late 14th. century. It's paired with hand strung pearls, and a beautifully checker faceted green amethyst.
